December Designs for LRS

December's kit for LRS featured the Elegant line from American Crafts. I totally loved working with these papers and embellishments! Thanks to Maegan for providing such a wonderful kit!!!

Reflecting

Wow! 2007 has been an interesting roller coaster ride of a year. It has been full of many accomplishments and trials. From skiing for the first time on January 1st to organizing my home on December 31, the year has been packed full of many interesting, surprising, and lifechanging moments. The month of December has been the most difficult of all as my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. I was able to fly out to see her and those days were some of the best of my year.

In the year to come, I feel like I really need to concentrate more on spiritual growth. I am going to join the 2008 Scripture Challenge and I plan to concentrate less on winning scrapbook contests and work on my heart and scrapping from my heart. This year will be bringing more challenges and I want to be spiritually ready! My oldest daughter and her husband must decide by January 18 if they will take a job in Bremerton, Washington. The anticipation of their move is both exciting and heart breaking. Thankfully it is only 12 hours away and it will open up new avenues for Ed and I to explore! So, bring on 2008! I am ready for the challenge!!!

OLW Challenge layout

I have actually found some time to scrap! Boy have I needed the therapy!!!
I loved the OLW challenge for this week. Gone. I decided to do a page dedicated to my daughters who no longer live at home. The journaling states Gone....are the days of their youth, those carefree days of learning and play. Even though I miss those days, I am totally enjoying their adulthood! We have grown closer than I ever imagined we would! I am so proud of them!
What a blessing to see your daughters grow to be amazing women! I am so blessed!!

What a Day!!

Have you ever had one of those days?? First of all, our garage door popped a spring. Ok, so no big deal, just gotta heat up the car and scrape the windows in the morning. Got it covered.
Then, at 6:00 this morning I am drying a load of laundry and I hear a loud pop. I have one more small load I need to dry, but it is Ben's soccer uniform, so I know it will air dry before he has to leave. Got it covered. I'll tell my hubby about it later. Then, just before I leave for work, my stomach rumbles big time. Ok, so I am late for work and not feeling too hot. I say a big prayer on the way. Thankfully I make it through the day with no mishaps until I walk out the door. Someone walks out at the same time I do and opens the door right onto my heal (which is not covered because I chose to wear my birks today). I have a large gash and am bleeding all over. I get home...yay my sanctuary! Aaaahhhh..... I fix dinner for the fam and open a can of chicken noodle soup for myself and the next thing I know an Insurance Saleswoman is at the door. My sweet, dear husband forgot to let me know he made an appointment.

I am so thankful that the day, though it was full unexpected twists and turns, was a good day!
The chickadees were whistling this morning, the sky was blue, the sun was shining and God was good! The dryer problem ended up being a blown fuse and my garage is still not fixed, but it will give my sweet, dear husband something to tackle this weekend. I just gotta say-Life Is Good!
I am thankful!!

Thanks to Jessica Sprague!!!

I took the Up and Running with Photoshop course with Jessica Sprague last month! It was awesome!! I can't believe how much I learned!!! I hope to use all I have learned in my pages to come. It is amazing what you can do when you know how to use your tools!!! Thank you Jessica for demystifying PSE!! Here are a few of the layouts I did in the class!! What a blast!!!

Soccer Season Dominates

I have to post a couple of pictures of Benny! You know the proud mom thing! I will be scrapping them soon as we only have three games left in the regular season!

Go Benny!!! Go Panthers!!! Beat Billings Central!!!

Life is funny that way!!

I find it kind of funny that my last title was about time. Here it is September 10 and I am just getting around to adding a new post to my blog! I have lots to say. Just no time to say it!

I think I am starting to settle in though and will be in a routine soon! Yay!

I just wanted to post my OLW challenge here. What a fun word. I had so many thoughts and ideas and I found this absolutely adorable picture of my girls! Pure sweetness totally sums it up! I am so blessed!!! After all these years, my girls are still pure sweetness to me!!!

Time, who's got the time?

My goodness it has been awhile since I have posted! I am going to have to make a schedule to do these things!! Last week just flew by! It doesn't help that School starts tomorrow for the staff of our High School. I had a ton of errands to run, and boy does the time fly when you are running errands. Maybe I should change my vocation to errand runner. Surely there would be a market for someone who has the time to run across town several time a day!

This school year should be very interesting. I have to supervise the learning lab this year for 1/2 a day. I so wish I was in the library all day long, but I will make do with this new assignment. I am thankful for the job, the insurance, and the summer's off! With the Lord's help, I hope to encourage the students to finish their work and hopefully be of some assistance!

Last week my daughter came over to scrap with me!! What a blessing!!! She is getting quite good at this new hobby she is reluctantly beginning. I am having a blast with her!!!

Here are two layouts she finished:

I finished this week's OLW challenge. Loved this challenge!!! Don't we all need a little balance in our lives. Going back to work and getting back into a routine will be very good!!I just won't have as much time to chat and scrap!!

The quote states: "Happiness is not a matter of intensity, but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony." Thomas Merton

I also did a card class with Nikki Hobbs at LRS. Card 1b

Have a great Monday everyone!!! Only meetings for me so it shouldn't be too bad!!

Weekend Glories

Boy this weekend went by fast!!! Can't I just rewind a few weekends and enjoy them once again?? I wish! Going back to work at the high school is looming ever closer in the distance!!
I have so much to do, and I am so excited to say I accomplished a ton! I got some dreaded ironing done, cleaned out my upstairs, and I even scrapped a bit. The best part though, was my daughter came over to scrap with me. What a blessing when you can share your passion with your daughter! She is getting quite good at this scrapping business too! I am going to have to get some pictures of her layouts and post them on here!
The new LRS kit came in the mail this week and I have been having a blast with it.
Here are the layouts and cards I created this weekend.

This layout entitled Thank You was made for the JJ challenge.

The next layout, All Smiles, is for the OLW posie challenge. These posies were so much fun to make! I am going to have to make some more! Thanks Gigi!!
The next two cards are for Nikki's challenge at LRS.

Have a great day everyone!!

JJ Challenge

I had a blast with this week's Journaler's Junction challenge

Journaling reads:

Where has the time gone? Yesterday you were a cute little girl today you

are a woman fuull of beauty and grace. Beautiful inside and out.

Season's of Life

Today is the last day my sweet Heidi is home. I take her back
to college in Spokane tomorrow. I am sooo proud of her! She is so amazing! She has chosen her major, nursing, and she is so determined to have a great year! One thing about my girl is when she sets her mind to something, she fights for it all the way! Go Heidi! I am your biggest fan! It is kind of funny, all the years you have them at home you prepare them for leaving and it still doesn't make it any easier! I am not in tears like I was last year, so that is definitely a plus. I guess I am maturing too!

One of the many important things I learned last year is:

There isn't a child who hasn't gone out into the brave new world who eventually doesn't return to the old homestead carrying a bundle of dirty clothes. ~Art Buchwald

She will be back with her laundry before long-and we are talking major laundry!
I am going to miss her sooo much, but I know she is going to accomplish great things this year!

August 13

Here we are already into the middle of August!
Where has the summer gone.
I have spent the majority of my summer scrapping. It has been so much fun!!
In past summers I have baked and cleaned and you know, once school started the cooking and cleaning still needed to be done. This year I did not make those things the focus of my summer and I feel so fulfilled. I feel my scrapping has come a long way.
This summer has been a good one though. We have spent some time in Yellowstone National Park. We were able to spend a good deal of time fishing. Way fun!!!

I discovered a new site this week. (Boy am I going to have to learn to mange my time better once school has started.) It is called SIStv. What a wonderful site! I think I am going to spend a lot of time there!!
Here are the layouts I posted this morning. I found the OLW challenge! Way fun!!

The First Post

Well, It's time for me to try this thing.
Where do I begin? Where do I focus?
All things scrapbooking and those things of the Lord will be priority.
These are all things that I will be formulating in the days to come.
For now I will do some research and find my niche.
Have a happy day!
