CPS and Papertrey-a match made in heaven!!!

Happy Thursday dear friends!!! Today is the beginning of a four day weekend since school is out Thursday and Friday, whoooo hooo!!! I am busy cleaning out a closet and catching up on many things I haven't had time to take care of, and that includes grocery shopping!!! Last night a dear friend of mine, who is absolutely amazing by the way, came over to scrap with me. We had the best time chatting and creating. She got a lot done, and as for me, well, I ended up moving a lot of different papers around. I couldn't decide on anything!

I chose to work on a Card Positioning Systems Sketch and play with my new Papertrey Ink Stamps!!! You can't find a better combination than that!! I pulled out some old Christmas papers from Pink Paislee which are a good two years old and you know, they really inspired me!! I am enjoying using up my stash, and I just have to say, it is about time I did!!!

Benny called during our visit, which made me sooooo very happy. I felt bad for Melinda, but she totally understood! It had been a couple of weeks since I had talked to him and it was soooo good to catch up! He sounds absolutely fantastic!!! Only three more weeks, and we head to Missouri to attend his graduation! I can't wait!!!

After Melinda left, I took a short break and ate a quick snack. I must have needed some nourishment because after I came back, I was finally able to put my card together. You know how the light bulb finally goes off and a bright idea suddenly comes to you and the whole project suddenly comes together? Well for me, it was to cut out the trees and add them to my focal point. After adding the trees, I was able to sit back, sigh, and say there it is!! I love it when that happens!!!

Here's the sketch:

Little Red Scrapbook Reveal!!!!

Hi there dear friends!!! I hope all is well with you this fine fall day!!! I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am these days!!! I am so thankful for family, friends, co-workers and my cyber-friends or should I say "kindred spirits"! I have been blessed indeed!!! Thank you for your words of encouragement, your hugs, and most important of all, your prayers!!!! You are all the best!

Little Red Scrapbook

I just loved this month's kit!!! Crate Paper Restoration is one of my all-time favorite lines of paper!!! This first project is of my sweet girl Bethany. Look at that amazing smile of hers!!! Melts my heart completely!!! I used Katrina's sketch by Pagemaps for this project.
I added some masking with Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Reinker in a mini mister. I also added a border punch by Martha Stewart.

This layout is of my Little Sweet Pea, Heidi. I used the reinker mist and added some buttons along with the border stickers.

This layout is of Bethany and her friend Hillary!! They were attending their friend's bridal shower and it looks like they had a blast!!! Friends do add color to our lives, for sure!!!!

This is my favorite project of the month. I took a little Maya Road House album and made some cute little hangers for my peg shelf. I just love all the goodies in this kit and it was perfect for these houses!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!
I hope you have a wonderful evening!!!

Little Red Scrapbook Sneak and Challenge

Happy Monday my sweet friends!!! To those of you who have a day off, I wish you a wonderful day!!! Our school is open today, so no day off for me, but we do have a 4 day weekend coming up very soon and I can't wait!

Little Red Scrapbook

The Little Red Scrapbook October kit is my favorite kit ever and I've been having a blast with it!!! The kit is full of Crate Paper Restoration goodness!!! The colors are amazing, the designs are wonderful and the embellishments are absolutely fantastic!!!!!! You're gonna love it!!!
I wanted to share a quick little peak of one of my designs with this month's kit!!!

I have a little shelf in my living room that has pegs on it and I am making a non-connected banner to hang on those pegs. I wanted a bold title, but I didn't want the title to over-take my project, so I took some scrabble pieces and scanned them with my scanner. I used Photoshop to make the pieces a little smaller and I was very pleased with how well they fit in with the color scheme. I just love when it all comes together!!!

The Challenge:

My challenge this month is for you to use a "Home" theme. Whether the word is in your title, you make a layout about your home, or if you design a Welcome Home card, there has to be some reference to "Home" in your project. I have a little grab bag of goodies for a random participant in this challenge that includes Jenni Bowlin Bingo Cards, Bazzill Chipboard shapes, OA School Days Rub Ons, Jillibean Soup Sprouts and more. Projects need to be uploaded to the Little Red Scrapbook Challenge Thread by November 1 and I will draw on November 2nd.

Have fun my friends!!
Wishing you an amazing week,
Kristii

Scrapping the Music #155

Happy Thursday night, which means that tomorrow is Friday...Hooray!! Fridays are my favorite!!!

I am a little late getting my Scrapping the Music layout posted due to computer problems. Technology, you can't live without it, but boy it can be frustrating at times!!! This week's song, "This is Home" by Switchfoot, is from the movie, The Chronicles of Narnia. This song has awesome lyrics and I used most of them in my layout!
Supplies used:
Patterned Papers: Webster's Pages
Florals: Prima
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Alpha's Sassafras Lass and Webster's Pages
Felt and buttons from my stash
The lyrics from this song totally gripped my heart. The lyrics I chose to use are:
I've got my memories, they're always inside of me,
and I won't go back, back to how it was.
And I've got my heart set on what happens next,
I've got my yes wide and it's not over yet.
Belief over misery, we are miracles and we're not alone.
I've got a brand new mindset,
I can fully see the sunset, I've come too far,
No, I won't go back.
I added:
I'm keeping my Priorities straight and I'm staying close to You,
this is home.

This past year has been one of the most difficult years my husband and I have faced in 26 years of marriage. In the process of dealing with difficulties of this life, we have put our priorities in order and we have grown closer to the Lord and closer together. To me, home where I belong, is where the Lord is and everything else falls into place. Our marriage is stronger and we are happier together despite the difficulties!!

I hope you get a chance to play along with us!!! You will have two weeks to finish your layout and maybe you will gain a spot in the STM Hall of Fame!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my heart with you!!!
God is Good all the Time!!!
Have a wonderful evening!!
