I knew that I had to play with my new button goodies and decided to make a little gift pocket.

Missing our Sweet Lily!

Today was a very sad day in our home as we lost our Sweet Lily girl. She fell ill over the weekend and we knew that there was nothing more we could do for her today. She was a huge part of our lives for 14 years and she brought us so much joy and love!
We miss you Lily and we will love you forever!

Sweet songs and CPS

Hi there dear friends!!! Happy Friday!! The last few mornings it has been a such a treat to hear the little birds sweetly singing as they greet the day. When I hear those beautiful melodies, it makes me remember that despite the gray skies and snow, spring isn't far away!! It is so good to take that minute and enjoy those heavenly tunes. Sometimes in the rush of life, I forget to take a minute to enjoy those simple pleasures that surround me and thank my Creator for all He has done. I hope you remember to take a minute to enjoy the beauty that surrounds us. It is good for the soul.

Birds have definitely been on my mind these days, as I have been stamping like crazy with PTI's Little Bitty Birds. However, today I thought I would play with my new October Afternoon papers and incorporate a stamp that I have had forever from Studio Calico. It is good to get out those oldies but goodies out and rejuvenate them!!

Here's the CPS #205 Sketch:
and Here's my Take on the Sketch:
Cardstock: PTI Rustic White
Patterned Paper: October Afternoon Schoolhouse
Cardstock Stickers: October Afternoon Schoolhouse
Stamps: Studio Calico Limited Edition Bird
PTI Fillable Frames #1

A Little Bird with a Big Song

I have one last post for today my friends!!! It has been a very creative week and it feels so good!!!The joy that creating brings to my soul therapeutic and healing! Like Jerry Van Amerongen said, "I feel like a tiny bird with a big song!" and I want to share that song with you today! I hope you all get the chance to create this day or in the days to come and may the melody be sweet to your souls!!!

This project was made for the Make it Monday Challenge. The challenge is to use a Vellum Sentiment Strip. I haven't used Vellum since my daughter's wedding which was over four years ago. I love these challenges! They make me get out of my box and try something new!! I was also challenged by my friend Cathy to use the hand image from the Love Lives Here set. Thanks for the inspiration Cathy!!!
For this card, I used the Fillable Frames #1 stamp. I stamped the framed image first and I added the flourish stamp from the Mat Stack I Collection and cut the tag and flourish out as one piece. I created my own patterned paper using stamps from the Mat Stack I Collection.
I embellished the tag with a die cut and glittered hand from the Love Lives Here set, ribbon, Prima Floral, died seam binding from Memrie Mare, Tim Holtz ribbon, Kaiser Craft pearl, buttons, and a scalloped edge cut with the Banner Builder Die. I stamped the sentiment onto the vellum with Dark Chocolate ink and hand-cut in the shape of a banner.

Thank you for allowing me to share my love of crafting with you!!!
I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you!!!
Have a wonderful evening!

Little Red Scrapbook Reveal

Hi there dear friends!! It's time for the full Little Red Scrapbook reveal!!! This kit was so fun to work with!!! I love all the color and all the fun, glittery embellishments!

This first layout is of my sweet daughter Beth. I am so excited to share that she has started her first blog and she participated in her first card challenge last week!!! How fun is that!! I really wanted to put a picture of her blog on the layout, but it just didn't work. The title, however, tells the whole story! She truly is close to my heart!!! You can check out her blog Here.
The next two layouts feature pictures that my dad took while the girls were modeling for him, hence the titles. My dad is an awesome photographer, but my girls are absolutely gorgeous models!!! I am so happy that he has taken so many amazing pictures of them!
Last, but not least, is a fun little card using a tag that was included in a kit. Just shows how much a button and a bow can dress anything up!!
Thank you so much for stopping by!!!
I appreciate you tremendously!

Think Big Challenge

Hi there dear friends!!! I am still having a ton of fun with PTI's anniversary challenges! Today's challenge is to Think Big and boy did I think big. Check out that bow!!! I have been working on this bag for a week and it just wasn't coming together and when I found out about this challenge, my creative juices started flowing!!! Whoo hoo!! This pretty little bag I made for my daughter took flight!!!
The fun thing about this little bag, is I made it out of a 6" x 9" envelope!! I scored the envelope at 1" along the sides of the envelope and at 1" along the bottom of the envelope. I also scored a diagonal line from corner to corner along the bottom of the envelope as shown.
After scoring the envelope, I folded along the scored edges both ways. Then I cut the top flap of the envelope off and punched the edge with a decorative punch.
I folded the bag as shown and glued the flaps to the bottom of the bag. Once the bag was together, I stamped some dots on the front and the sides of the bag.
Added some fun stamped embellishments from PTI, some Prima Florals, and some ribbon and lace from my stash.
Such a fun project that will be sent to my sweet daughter for Valentine's day!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!! I truly appreciate all the comments you leave!!!
Have a wonderful evening!

I've been Framed

It's Friday night and time for a little scrap therapy!! Thank goodness Nichole over at Papertrey Ink gave us a challenge yesterday to create a tag that incorporates a frame of some kind. I am so glad it was a tag challenge!! I didn't have to think too hard and I was able to make a fun little vintage-themed tag which was very therapeutic challenge after a very long week!!!!
For this tag, I took the Tag Sale #1 die and cut it out of Kraft paper. Then I took the fillable frames #10 die and cut it out of the middle of the tag leaving a nice little frame. I inked the kraft tag with Embellished stamps in black. I used a nice little scrap of Girl's Paperie paper for the window of the tag and added the sweet little house from the Love Lives Here set.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a relaxing and joyous weekend!!!

A Little Glitzy Romance

Hi there dear friends!!! Once again it is my privilege to share some more Glitz goodness with you! I've been having some fun exploring the romantic side of Glitz Design and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's the perfect time to get a little romantic!

In my first card, I chose the pretty pink Damask from the Love Nest Collection and added some black accents along with some fun embossed edges to add texture. I layered a Black Glitzer frame onto a rustic cream background that was brushed with some distress ink and then I layered the rub ons on top of the Glitzer. It is such a fun challenge to mix and match all the amazing Glitz elements!! All the layers made a gorgeous romantic medalliion!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Papers: Damask
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Rub Ons
Glitz Design "Scarlett" Glitzers
Glitz Design Tulle
Glitz Design Giant Rhinestones: Pink, Black, Green

other supplies: cardstock: PTI rustic cream, Bazzill black; ribbon: Joann's; embossing folder: Stampin Up!; punch: Stampin Up!; stamps: Hero Arts Canvas Stripes, PTI Love Birds; Die: PTI Heart Prints Collection; Kaiser Craft Jewels; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Brushed Corduroy and Worn Lipstick, Memento Tuxedo Black
In my second card I pulled out the gorgeous Red Polka paper from the Scarlett Collection and I added some of the rub ons from the Love Nest collection. I just love how easily Glitz Designs Collections all mix and match so well together!!
I was looking for a simple, yet shabby chic feel for this romantic card. I crimped the Red Polka paper to add some texture, and then I let the rub on's speak for themselves!!! I think the Love Nest Rub Ons are my very favorite embellishment by Glitz Designs!
Supplies Used:
Glitz Designs "Scarlett" paper: Polka
Glitz Designs "Love Nest" Rub Ons

other supplies: cardstock: PTI Rustic Cream; ribbon: PTI Rustic Cream grosgrain; Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Brushed Corduroy and Worn Lipstick; Fiskars Crimper; PTI button and button twine; lace and from my stash

Thanks for stopping by!
Wishing you a very Glitzy day!!!
