Travel Journal Gift Set with Glitz Design

Good morning sweet friends!!  I am excited to share a little Travel Journal Gift Set made with Glitz Design Happy Travels goodies!!!  My daughter and a very good friend of mine took "vacations of a lifetime" this month and their travels gave me the idea of making a gift for traveling friends and relatives.

I embellished a kraft Moleskine Journal and added some envelopes for ephemera on the inside and added a card to complete the ensemble.
The card features stamped die cuts using the Glitz Design Happy Travels Clear Stamps, which I just love!!!
I masked the edges of the die cuts before I stamped to leave a nice clean border.  I added a rolled felt flower, lace, and cream seam binding to all the sweet little Glitz Happy Travels goodies.
Decorating Moleskine Journals is one of my all-time favorite gift ideas and making a travel journal is easy with Glitz Design goodies!!
I started with a Happy Travels paper layer and added a Happy Travels Titles Sticker and Rhinestone along with a Tim Holtz Ideology Word Key, some lace, ribbon and floral.  I machine stitched along the edge of the Paper Layer to add a finished look.
On the inside of the journal, I added some envelopes to hold ephemera and trinkets.
To insert the envelopes in the journal, I cut a 3 x 8-1/4 inch piece of patterned paper.  I scored the paper every 3/4 inch and folded accordion-style along the score lines.

I glued the edges of the folded piece of paper to the inside cover and the inside page of the journal.  Then, I glued the envelopes to the folds as shown.

I embellished the rest of the journal with Happy Travels goodies to complete the project.
I look forward to giving this to someone before their next trip.  Who knows, maybe I'll give it to my daughters and we'll go on a trip together!!!

CupCards {to Go} May Reveal

Happy Monday evening dear friends!!!  I'm finally relaxing after a day full of appointments...whew, I'm exhausted!  Sharing the the CupCards {to go} May reveal with you makes my day so much better, however!! This month's kit is very whimsical and full of fun little goodies!!!
What a fun kit for sure!!! My first card is a whimsical interactive card.  I will be sharing a tutorial on this interactive card later in the month on the CupCards {to Go}Blog.
isn't that cute little bug the sweetest?
Pull the tab and you find a sweet little message!
A close-up of the pulled tab.
I just had a to make a Mother's Day card with this fun little kit.  This shaped card would also make a great thinking of you card!!  The challenge for this month is to make a shaped card or a card with a window and I chose the shaped card.

I cut a circle shaped card out of Stamper's Select white cardstock with my Cricut Machine using the Wild Card Cartridge.  I cut the shaped card at 4 and 3/4 inches.
I added some felt leaves cut using the PTI Turning a New Leaf Dies.

One of my favorite papers in the kit was the Bella Blvd Happiness & Sunshine juicy good time.  The pink cherries are soooooo very sweet!!!
I used my PTI Fruit Fusion Dies and Stamps to add some homemade embellishments to this card!  Way fun!  The little Bella Blvd tags were perfect for the sentiment!!!
My last card is fun and whimsical and full of glittery goodness!!
I decided to make this card a shaped card and cut the tail on the end of the banner.  Just a fun little addition!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in the fun!!!

Prickley Pear Mondays- Clear Oval stamps and Die

Good Morning dear friends!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! My weekend was spectacular!!  I was able to get lots done and I had an absolutely wonderful day with my kids on Sunday!!  I will post some mother's day photos later in the day!!  In the meantime, I received some new Prickley Pear stamps and dies in the mail the other day, and I've been dying to play with them!!  I used the new Clear Oval stamps and die for this week's installment of Prickley Pear Mondays.
Here's what I came up with:

I used Cosmo Cricket's Tea for Two mini deck patterned papers for this card and I found a cameo in my stash to embellish.  Jane Austen was my inspiration for this card!! A part of me wishes I would have been a part of that era!!  I'm thinking I'm going to have to read Pride and Prejudice in the near future!!
I used sketch #54 from Cardabilities and what a fabulous sketch it is!!

Supplies used:
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Clear Oval stamps and die
Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two Mini Deck

Graduation Celebration

Good morning sweet friends!!  I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday!!  I have a busy day as I have 45 baby shower invitations to finish up as well as some cards to make for the May CupCards {to go} kit.  I love all the busyness and creativity!  As you fully know:
(Creativity) is the only way to run away without leaving home.  ~Twyla Tharp

I have a couple more graduation photos from the weekend to share with you.  What a wonderful day it was!!
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.  ~e.e. cummings
You are educated.  Your certification is in your degree.  You may think of it as the ticket to the good life.  Let me ask you to think of an alternative.  Think of it as your ticket to change the world.

and one more little bit of wisdom:
If at first you don't succeed, do it like your mother told you.  ~Author Unknown

Of course, I waited to the last minute to make a congrats grad card, so I made a quick and easy CAS card:
I used Papertrey Ink's For the Graduate stamps and their Alpha dies along with their Heart and Star border dies.  Easy~Peasy!!!  I made several layers using PTI Stamper's Select White and Enchanted Evening Cardstock.  Then I die cut the alphas and fussy-cut the stamped cap. The text was printed using the Laurenscript font and I used some scraps from the October Afternoon Sidewalks 8x8 pad to add some gold to the card representing the school colors.  I was going for a fun and cute look and the hearts added just the right touch!!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my joy!!!

Miss You Mom!!

Hi there dear friends!! I hope you are all well today!!  My mom is on my mind  as today would have been her 67th birthday.  Words cannot express how much I miss her and wish she were still here with us!!  I miss you mom!!
How come
you never get over
missing your Mom?
How come years later
you still can't wait to
tell her something
before you remember
how long she has been gone?
How come every time
you see something beautiful
you think "Oh my Mom
would love this."
And every time
there is a hurt so big
your heart can't hold it
she is the first one you need.
Every joy that comes
could only be better
if you could
share it with her.
Those words are so very true!!  My heart will always miss you mom!!
Thanks for letting me take a minute to honor my mom!!!

Glitz Design May Blog Challenge

Happy May Day dear friends!!!  It's hard to believe it's already the first of May and it's time to start a new Glitz Design challenge!!!  Here's the challenge:
Image
What an awesome challenge for the Month of May!!!  For me personally, Mother's day is a tough day.  My mom is no longer here with us, but I know she is always in my heart and I think about her each and every day!  So, for my challenge cards I chose to make Thinking of You Cards to honor my mom.  Here's my take on the challenge:
:
There are lots of layers in this card including a Peek a Boo from the French Kiss line of goodies. I printed the sentiment onto cream cardstock and then inked the edges.  I covered the sentiment with a Pretty Ink Pink Glitzer and then fussy cut the edges.  It makes for a perfect custom-made sentiment!!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink 6x6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink Glitzers
Glitz Design French Kiss Peek a Boos
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock; Canvas Corp Burlap Heart; Doily, Buttons, Pearls, and Seam Binding from my stash

The next card is made using the beautiful French Kiss Whatnots as inspiration. I totally love the French Kiss Whatnots!! They are completely gorgeous!!

I used a little heirloom lace, seam binding ribbon and a doily to add some layers and vintage goodness to this card.  It's amazing what a little lace and ribbon can do!!!
Supplies used:
Glitz Design Pretty In Pink 6x6 Pad
Glitz Design French Kiss 6x6 Pad
Glitz Design French Kiss Whatnots
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock; Pink Paislee Ephemera; Doily, Buttons, Florals, and Seam Binding from my stash

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very Glitzy Day,
Kristii
