Happy Hexagons and a Winner!!!

Hi there dear friends!!!  I hope all is well with you this hot summer day!!  It is nice and hot here in Montana, but we are in the midst of wildfire season already!! I'm praying for rain already and it's only June!  Yikes, it could be a long, hot summer!!  Yesterday I had a doctor appointment and a date with  my sweet middle daughter.  My daughter and I had a fabulous afternoon!!  What a sweetheart she is!  My doctor decided to increase my medication and I am hoping to find an even keel here in the days to come!!!  I am so looking forward to having more energy and being normal again!!

I have been enjoying a little Klove goodness as I've been working on my projects!!! How wonderful it is to play and praise at the same time!!!  My heart is full in more ways than one!!  Thanks be to our God forever and ever, Amen!

I have a randomly drawn winner in the Glitz Design Happy Travels Stamp set:

Congratulations Helen!!!  If you would email me your address, I will put your stamps in the mail!!

I have a quick little card for you today.  I missed the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop yesterday, but I wanted to share my card with you just the same!
I die cut the hexagons and stamped them in Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, and Spring Rain.  After stamping the images, I inked the edges of each little hexagon with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Ink.  I layered the hexagon template onto a Rustic Cream Card base and filled in the hexagons.  After the hexagons were all in place, I removed the template. I totally love the Hexagon Cover Plate!  What an awesome little tool it is!!!  I stamped the roses from the Rosie Posie Set and layered them onto a Label Basics Label.  I added scalloped trim by die cutting the heart border and layering it under the hexagon panel and then I added a little seam binding bow. Then I layered the panel onto a Lemon Tart card base. The sentiment is from Birthday Bash Sentiments.

I love stamping with the Happy Hexagons!! They truly do make me happy!!!  I am so thankful for this hobby I love so much and I am thankful for those of you who visit my blog!!!  I am truly blessed indeed!

Hope you have a wonderful evening!!

Feeling Patriotic!!

Happy Saturday sweet friends!!  I just finished up with Farmer's Market this morning and we are on our way up to the mountains for a little hiking adventure!  I just love these sunny summer days!!! I'm in heaven I tell you.  This week I was feeling a little patriotic as I realized that the 4th of July is right around the corner.  I wanted to make a little banner to hang on my peg shelf and I remembered the sweetest little tag that Melissa Phillips created and thought it would make the start of a beautiful banner!! Thanks for the inspiration Melissa!!

I used the Loopsy Daisy dies to make the bows. I stamped the stars onto kraft cardstock and printed the gingham pattern onto kraft cardstock from a template that I have saved on my computer.  Love, love, love the red, blue, cream and kraft combination! Thanks again Melissa for the inspiration!  I added some cream felt that was die cut with the notched flower dies.  I added some twine, a button and krinkled paper to each bow.
I attached the bows onto kraft and rustic cream layered pennants and embellished with lace.  I printed the Celebrate Freedom on my computer and notched the edges.  I die cut the stars with PTI's seeing stars dies.
I used my Cricut machine to cut God Bless America using the Stand and Salute Cartridge.
I just love the Loopsy Daisy bow!! It will be perfect for all types of banners!!  Here's a close-up of the bow!  So very Americana!!
This  little banner will hang on the pegs on my little shelf in my living room!! Perfect for the 4th of July celebration!!

Life is better in Flip Flops!!

Happy first full day of summer my friends!! It's going to be a gorgeous day here in Southwestern Montana!!!  I think we are going to take time out this afternoon to go on a hike and take advantage of the nice weather!!  There's nothing better than getting out and enjoying the amazing landscape here in the Gallatin Valley.  We are truly blessed here indeed!!

Only two more days until Farmer's Market and I've been working like a crazy woman trying to replenish my stock after last week's opening day!!!  What a wonderful day it was and I'm forever grateful to those of you who have purchased my cards, cookbooks, and journals!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

I will have several new items in this week's market and they will include a few cards made with Papertrey Ink's Flipping Out Stamps and Dies.  I am loving all the possibilities with these sweet new stamps.  One of my favorite's in the set is the sentiment, "Life is Better in Flip Flops"!  I so agree, although I would be wearing my birkenstock's rather than flip flops.  But, that is what summer is all about - rest, relaxation and reveling in the sunshine!!
I used some October Afternoon Sidewalks papers in these cards along with Flipping Out and On the Farm stamps.
Don't you just love the detail on the flip flops!  I cut the flower tops out of cream felt and added some Copic Colored rhinestones.  I just love that you can change the colors of jewels with Copics!!!

This card is a little bright and crazy, but all the color totally reminds me of a bright summer day!!
Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink Flipping Out and On the Farm; MME Follow Your Heart by Rhonna Farrer

Wedding Wishes with Glitz Design

Good morning sweet friends!!!  I have a fun gift idea for you today using Glitz Design Happy Travels Papers!!  I don't know about you, but when I try new recipes, I'm bad about recording them.  So, I thought it would be fun to make a little cookbook album to store them in.  I've had the idea rolling around in my mind for quite a while, but I needed to make a gift for a friend's wedding and I thought this would be the perfect time to try it out!!  I put my whole heart and soul into the project and I am sooooo happy with the way it turned out!
I used the backside of the Happy Travels Bicycle Paper and the stripe paper to inspire my project.  It was tricky, because the flowers are from the basket on the front side of the paper.  I had to cut very carefully!
I created the title of the book in Photoshop Elements and then lightly stamped chicken wire on the mat and layered it over a couple of the Happy Travels Stickers.  I added a doily, seam binding ribbon and the fussy cut flowers to embellish the front.
I carried the red theme through the rest of the cover:
I learned a lot about Photoshop making the recipe pages:
Let's just say that the Grid Lines are a wonderful thing!!!  I printed the index tabs on the computer and then cut them by hand since my die only cut a 5 1/2" wide file tab.
I used journaling stickers and the layered stickers to embellish the matching card,
and stamped the striped paper with the sentiment.

Whew!  What a fun project!  I am so happy I have created a template for the recipe pages!! It won't take long at all to make Christmas presents this year!!!

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Happy Travels Papers: Bicycle and Stripe
Glitz Design Happy Travels Stickers:  Titles, Journaling, and Layered
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Kraft Binder: Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream, Simply Chartreuse, and Pure Poppy Cardstock; Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers Stamps: Roses; Papertrey Ink Parisian Lace Doily Die; Seam binding from my stash; Computer Fonts: Simply*Glamorous, Just the Way You Are, Dawning of a New Day.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a very Glitzy Day!!!

Gift Ideas - Country Cookbooks

Hi there sweet friends!  I have a fun week of Cookbook ideas for you!!  The story behind these cookbooks begins with my lack of organization!!  No big mystery there...I am completely disorganized!  I started using recipes from the internet and magazines when we changed our diet and started eating healthier.  I would cook a recipe and set the instructions aside for future reference.  No big deal.  If we liked the new recipe, we would definitely use it again at a later date.  Of course, when we wanted to use the recipe again, I couldn't find it anywhere!  I would spend hours trying to find the same recipe and I decided it was time to do something about my problem and so, the Create your Own Cookbook idea was born!!!  These sweet little recipe books will make fabulous gifts for friends, relatives and coworkers.  Everyone needs a place to put their recipes and I've made one for myself and I love it!!

I used Papertrey Ink's On the Farm Stamp Set for the cover and inside pocket of the cookbook.  I just love those stamps!!  I added some texture to the background with the Chicken Wire Impression Plate from PTI and added some hand-cut flowers that were stamped with flowers from the Daydreamer set.   The inspiration for the front cover is from Nichole Heady's On the Farm Card that you can find in this post.

I created a pocket for notes and seven chapter dividers.  Label Basics worked perfectly for the spine title and the pocket decoration.  I will show more of the inside of the cookbook in tomorrow's post which will feature a cook book made with Glitz Design Papers.

Supplies Used:
Papertrey Ink Stamps:  On the Farm, Label Basics, Daydreamer
Papertrey Ink Cardstock: Pure Poppy, Stamper's Select White, Summer Sunrise and True Black
Papertrey Ink Patterned Paper:  Simply Chartruese and Summer Sunrise
Papertrey Ink Ribbon:  True Black Satin
Papertrey Ink: Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartruese
Papertrey Ink Dies:  Edgers #5, On the Farm, Heart Border, Block Alphabet

Thanks for stopping by!! I will have more Cookbook ideas in the days to come!!

A Little on the Farm Love

Happy Wednesday dear friends!!  I am busy making goodies for the Farmer's Market that starts this weekend. So many ideas....so little time!!  I just had to pull out my On the Farm Stamps and make some Farm Fresh Cards!!

I was totally inspired by Maile Belles' card found in this Blog Post.  Stacking the animals on top of each other was a brilliant idea and I just had to try the idea out with my own twist!!!  I used some October Afternoon Sidewalks paper and added a little felt flower to embellish.

The card base has been impressed with the Chicken Wire Impression Plate and it looks fabulous in real life!  I love it!! The On the Farm set is so much fun to play with!! I love it!

Supplies Used:
PTI On the Farm Stamps and Dies
PTI Chicken Wire Impression Plate
PTI Heart Border Die
PTI Pure Poppy, Kraft and Stamper's Select White Cardstock
PTI Pure Poppy Felt
Ribbon from Joann's
October Afternoon Sidewalks 6x6 Pad
Recollections Pearl

More Strawberry Patch Fun and Life Changes

Hi there dear friends!!!  Sorry I have been posting so sparsely lately.  I am making some life changes this summer and stamping has slid further down on the priority list.  I have been exercising more and spending more time with my sweet husband.  We have taken to hiking 3-4 times a week and I'm loving it!!  I am hoping to get my tiredness under control with more exercise and less stress.  I also see my doctor on the 25th to see if the medication is doing it's job.  I'm not sure as I'm still pretty tired these days, but the exercise is making me feel better that's for sure!!

I made a quick card with my go to sketch, just to get the creative juices flowing.   I used Papertrey Ink's wonderful Strawberry Patch stamps...one of my favorite all-time stamp sets!!
I stamped the checkerboard in black using the stamp from Farm Fresh.  I just love that checkerboard stamp!!  I stamped white and Sweet Blush cardstock with various stamps from the set and made sweet little banners.  I just love the color combination.  I also cut some leaves out of Simply Chartreuse Felt using the Turning a New Leaf dies.
I colored the inside of the flowers with Copic Markers Y32 Cashmere, R20 Blush and R0000 Pink Beryl.  Love, love, love those sweet little flowers!!  The scallop was made using the heart border die-another favorite!!

I truly enjoyed making this card!  It was great therapy for the soul!!

Papertrey Ink Supplies Used:

Strawberry Patch Sentiments
Farm Fresh Stamps
Pure Poppy Ink
Simply Chartreuse Ink and Felt

Glitz Design June Blog Challenge

Happy Tuesday dear friends!!!  I can’t believe it’s June and time for another Glitz Design Blog Challenge:
Image
Masculine cards are always a challenge for me as I love to embellish my cards with ribbon, flowers, lace and everything that is pretty!!  It’s a good thing Glitz Design’s Happy Travels line is perfect for all those manly creations that need to be made!!!   The colors are absolutely wonderful and the stamps couldn’t be more perfect!

In the first card I have for you today, I used a Happy Travels Peek a Boo as the base for my card:

I made an embellishment cluster emphasizing the fact that dad is #1.  I layered a Happy Travels "1" sticker on top of a French Kiss Layered Sticker to add some depth to the card.  I also cut off the end of an Epoxy Word Sticker to let dad know that he is loved.

Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Happy Travels Paper:  Stripe and Bicycle
Glitz Design Happy Travels Stamps
Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Button, Button Twine, and Ribbon;
Papertrey Ink Men of Life Stamps; Brad from my stash

The second card was inspired by the vintage sailboat in the Happy Travels Stamp Set.  I stamped the boat onto my card base then I stamped it once again on Rustic Cream cardstock.  I cut out the boat from the cream cardstock and inked the edges.
I added some twine to the boat to give the card some visual interest.  I also hand-cut some banners from the patterned paper and gently curled the ends.
I embellished the card with some additional stamped images from the Happy Travels stamp set, some ribbon and a button.  A very simple, yet manly card!
 Supplies Used:
Glitz Design Happy Travels Paper:  Stripe and Bicycle

Other Supplies:  Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream Cardstock, Button, Button Twine, and Ribbon;

Birds of a Feather June Kit featuring Glitz Design

Hi there dear friends!!! It's been a while since I've posted and I've missed it terribly!!!  I have just not felt very well over the past couple of weeks and I've been trying to catch up on sleep and take it nice and easy.
I was able to get lots of rest over the weekend and I'm hoping now, with the medication I'm on, I'll level out and get back to my normal self again.

I did have the wonderful opportunity to be the guest designer over at Birds of a Feather Kit Co. for the month of June!!  Birds of a Feather kits are absolutely amazing and this month they are featuring Glitz Design Goodies!! You can only imagine my excitement at the opportunity!!!!  Here's this month's kit:
check out all the Glitz Goodness, and my favorite part of the kit, the Heidi Swapp Destination Pennants by Pink Paislee!!!!
I also love the Hambly Clouds!!! They are so much fun to play with!!!
The wood veneer shapes by Studio Calico are also awesome!!!  What am I saying....This whole kit is totally awesome!!!
This layout featured photos from Heidi's Graduation party.  Of course I had to use a quote from Dr. Seuss's Oh the Places You'll Go book!!!  Don't the girls look happy!!!  What a huge accomplishment!
The next project I've had in my mind for a couple of month's now!!  The Glitz Design Bicycle paper is absolutely fabulous and I knew that I was going to have to make some wall art with it!!!
The "Discover" flag from the kit put my mind in motion!!  I chose the She Was A Daughter stamp by Christy Tomlinson for Unity Stamps to create the scene.   I stamped her on several of the papers included in the kit and paper pieced them together on the bicycle paper.  I glued the clouds to rustic cream paper and fussy cut them out and layered them under the sweet banner.  Of course, I had to add a veneer plane flying overhead!!

The saying says Discover the Simple Joys in life.  I want to remind myself each and every day that it's the Simple Things in life that bring joy and whenever I see it hanging in my living room, I will remember!!

My last project was a quick and simple card using another banner from the kit:
It's quick and easy and a perfect way to send off your traveling friend!!

I had so much fun with this kit and I hope you are able to score one for yourself!!!  You'll be happy you did!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!
